Matrix Visualisation

foo_vis_matrix is a foobar2000 visualization component that renders a music-reactive "Matrix" digital rain effect using Vulkan.

Features
  • Renders using Vulkan 1.1.
  • Uses a compute pass to write the raindrop grid state and a graphics pass that samples the MSDF font atlas and the green Matrix palette.
  • Adds music reactivity which modulates fall speed, glyph cycling, bloom, cursor intensity, slant and rotation.
  • Supports the Default User Interface (Default UI) and the Columns User Interface (Columns UI).
  • Includes 32-bit and 64-bit x86 component configurations as well as ARM64EC.
  • Builds for foobar2000 2.0 and later (2026-09-17) with latest Windows 11 SDK (10.0.28000.2526) and MSVC (14.51).
  • Requires Windows 10 or later.
